SM Prime Holdings Estate Management Group, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the local government of Parañaque City and the communities in Barangays Tambo and Don Bosco, recently held simultaneous drives to clean up the city's rivers and waterways.
The 'environmental bayanihan (community cooperation)' initiative netted four truckloads of vegetation and 57 sacks of garbage, each weighing approximately 20 kilos per sack, and was participated in by the Barangay Tambo Environmental Police, DoLE-TUPAD, DENR Estero Rangers, barangay volunteers, and volunteers from SM security, maintenance and estate management personnel.
The clean-up drive is one of SM's way of supporting the Manila Bay Rehabilitation program by partnering with local and national governments to ensure that waterways are kept clean as they have a significant impact on large bodies of water such as the Manila Bay.
