As an impressionable fifth grader, I always thought my teachers were heroes. This was especially true when I first entered the massive halls of Colegio San Agustin Makati and met Ms. Michaela Perez-Munoz for the first time.
I recall just being in awe, not just of her beauty, but of the way she carried herself. She was self-assured and confident in a way that I only dreamed of being at 11 years old. But while she possessed many traits that I admired, it was one act of kindness that stayed with me forever.
