Gov't underspends in first six months

The national government did not spend as much as it should have in the first half of this year, data released by the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) showed on Tuesday.

The national government ran a budget deficit of P716.1 billion in the first half of this year, falling 29.66 percent short of its P1.01-trillion ceiling.
