My friend borrowed my laptop to buy a bag online, and she used her credit card to pay the said merchandise. Since she used my laptop, I fraudulently took it as an opportunity to access her credit card. I found out that she had an unpaid balance of almost a million pesos. I told her what I saw, and she got angry and even threatened to file a case against me for accessing her credit card account. Can I be held liable even if I did not benefit financially?

The law that addresses your situation is Section 3(s) of Republic Act 11449 otherwise known as an "Act Providing for Additional Prohibitions to and Increasing Penalties for Violations of Republic Act 8484, otherwise known as the "Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998."
