Ando misses out on podium but sets new personal bests in Tokyo

FILIPINO weightlifter Elreen Ando might have failed to win a medal in the women's 64-kilogram weightlifting event in the Olympics at the Tokyo International Forum on Tuesday evening, but she managed to set new personal bests in the tiff.

Ando hoisted 100 kilograms for her best attempt in snatch and 122 kilograms in clean and jerk for a total of 222 kilograms. However, these new personal bests for Ando were only good enough for seventh place.
