LT. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr., the controversial military official who has been accused of being a "red-tagger" by some progressive groups, hung his uniform over the weekend, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) announced on Monday.

Parlade, who reached the mandatory age of retirement, left the military, which he served for 38 years.
