Duterte credits tax's on PH economic, fiscal strengths

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte attributed the Philippines' economic and fiscal strength prior to the coronavirus disease pandemic 2019 to his administration's tax reform program.

'Our tax reform program sustained our economic growth from the third quarter of 2016 to the fourth quarter of 2019, which made the Philippines one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia until the pandemic scourge,' he said on Monday during his final State of the Nation Address.
