THE International Solar Alliance (ISA) is a global platform for cooperation among countries to increase the use of solar energy in a safe, convenient, affordable, equitable and sustainable manner. The ISA was launched on Nov. 30, 2015 at the 21st Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21). ISA is the only international body with exclusive focus on Solar Energy. ISA's vision is to facilitate energy access in every corner of the world by delivering cleaner electricity to all by 2030. This is articulated well in ISA's vision statement: 'Every home no matter how far away, will have a light at home.'
To achieve the goal of solarization of economies, the ISA is working towards mobilizing over $1 trillion by 2030 towards solar investments and unlocking global energy transition. ISA strives to impact key areas of universal energy access, climate change mitigation, green economic recovery and growth, by enabling the ecosystem for development of solar technology along with other technologies like storage and hydrogen.
