Monsoon rains to linger 3 more days

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Saturday that rains are expected to continue for the next three days in parts of Luzon due to an enhanced habagat or southwest monsoon as typhoon Fabian exits the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

Weather specialist Joey Figuracion said Pagasa is monitoring another storm outside of the PAR named 'Nepartak,' located some 2, 855 kilometers east-northeast of extreme Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
