Floods in Metro Manila subside

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said floods in Metro Manila have subsided, including waist-deep waters in Quezon City.

'Itong Araneta Avenue, itong Taft Avenue sa Malate area, Pedro Gil, 'yung Remedios, lahat po ay humupa na ang baha diyan (Floods in Araneta Avenue, Taft Avenue in Malate Area, Pedro Gil, Remedios - have subsided),' MMDA Flood Control and Sewerage Management Director Baltazar Melgar told The Manila Times.

'Sa QC po, wala na po tayong flooding sa QC (there's no more flooding in Quezon City),' he added.

He said that floods in the cities of Muntinlupa and Valenzuela subsided at noontime.

'Mabilis naman po mag-subside ang tubig baha diyan sa mga lugar na 'yan (Floods subside quickly),' Melgar added.

He explained that the MMDA has 67 working pumping stations in Metro Manila which are vital in controlling floods.
