NAGTIPUNAN, Quirino: A Bugkalot mayor in this town of indigenous people (IP) has appealed to President Rodrigo Duterte after receiving a suspension order from the provincial board she described as "pure political harassment" against her person, family and tribe.

"It pains me to bear the brunt for all of these. It took us years to finally find our way to progress only to be stopped dead in our tracks by one disgruntled man. The people of Nagtipunan know the truth. Our constituents know better. Clearly, what they did to me is pure political harassment against me and my family," Mayor Nieverose Camma-Meneses said.
