THE head of the independent OCTA Research group proposed a rollback in the easing of restrictions against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) after its more transmissible Delta variant was detected in the Philippines.

In a phone interview with The Manila Times on Saturday, Professor Ranjit Rye said the general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions that was enforced previously in the National Capital Region (NCR) and its so-called bubble in Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal should be reimposed.
