LAGOS: A total of 222 people were killed and 774 others were kidnapped in the second quarter of 2021 in a spate of attacks by gunmen who have been on the rampage in Nigeria's northwestern state of Kaduna, an official security report said on Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila).

In the security report for the second quarter of 2021, the Kaduna state government also confirmed 226 persons were injured while 87 gunmen responsible for killing and kidnapping innocent citizens of the state were killed between April and June 2021.
