POLICE in Bacnotan town in La Union have averted a plan to assassinate the province's Second District Rep. Sandra Eriguel and two municipal leaders, according to an intelligence report that was released to the media on Saturday.
The report said Eriguel is main target of the notorious gun-for-hire-squad allegedly led by retired PCol. Winston Magpali. Eriguel is the widow of the late congressman Franny Eriguel, who was killed by the same group.
