SEN. Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao's anti-corruption posturing is his way of pushing back against moves to count him out as presidential timber in the 2022 elections, political analysts say.
"Different national political personalities are positioning themselves for 2022. I think Senator Pacquiao sees himself as a viable candidate and he saw his vehicle is PDP-Laban, but I think when there were moves by some members of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, to oust him, what we've noticed is that this is his version of pushing back to project that he should be taken seriously. Now, he's even pulling information against the sitting administration," political analyst Dindo Manhit - founder and managing director of the Stratbase Group and president of its policy think-tank, Albert del Rosario Institute for Strategic and International Studies, said.
