AT least five short-lived phreatomagmatic (combination of magma and water) eruptions occurred at the main crater of the Taal Volcano on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The fifth burst took place at 11:56 a.m., lasting for less than a minute and generating a 200-meter dark gray plume from the volcano's main crater, according to Phivolcs chief Renato Solidum Jr.
