Ombudsman won't appeal Sen. Revilla's acquittal

THE Office of the Ombudsman will not challenge the Sandiganbayan's decision acquitting Sen. Ramon 'Bong' Revilla Jr. of graft in connection with the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or pork barrel scam.

'The SB [Special] First Division voted 3-2 to grant Senator Revilla's Demurrer to Evidence, and we respect its decision', the anti-graft office said in a statement issued on Thursday.
