Govt eyes travel ban on Indonesia, Malaysia

Health Secretary Francisco Duque 3rd said on Wednesday the government is considering imposing a travel ban on Indonesia and Malaysia to prevent the spread of more infectious Covid-19 variants in the country.

'There is always that possibility that the Delta variant is detected in 85 to 90 countries. So, we have to look at the data and the trajectory of the cases in those countries so we [can] be guided by the metric on how high the attack rate is per population [and] percentage increase in the past two weeks,' Duque said in a TV interview.
