Rising sea levels and coastal flooding could slash the City of Manila's gross domestic product (GDP) by at least $39 billion within the current decade, Greenpeace East Asia said in a new report.
"Experts have long known the extreme vulnerability of coastal cities such as Manila to climate impacts due to flooding events compounded by sea level rise," Greenpeace Country Director Lea Guerrero said.
