Enhanced WESM design launched

Trading interval at the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) has been shortened to five minutes following the launch of the enhanced WESM design and operations (EWDO).

On Saturday, the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines (Iemop) declared the commercial operations of the EWDO, marking the transition to a five-minute dispatch and settlement interval from the current one-hour interval.
