Mindoro lawmakers push PPA bid probe

CALAPAN CITY: The two representatives of Oriental Mindoro have asked President Rodrigo Duterte for a probe of the alleged 'questionable and untimely' conduct of public biddings on government ports, sea terminals and ports facilities by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) under a new terminal leasing and management rules and regulations implemented by the agency.

Oriental Mindoro Second District Rep. Alfonso Umali Jr., in a statement sent to local media, said he and First District Rep. Paulino Salvador Leachon wrote a letter to the President to investigate allegations that high PPA officials are favoring a certain corporate entity in the bidding process for services at ports in the country.
