TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte: The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in Eastern Visayas has reported an increase of 6.7 percent in palay (unhusked rice) production in Region 8 in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the same period in 2020.
PSA 8 Regional Director Wilma Perante said palay output rose from 252,869 metric tons (MT) in the first quarter of 2020 to 269,853 MT in the same quarter of 2021.
