Professor Patricia Empleo, PhD, dean of the University of Santo Tomas-Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy, was recognized as the 2021 Pillar of Accounting Education by the National Association of Certified Public Accountants in Education (Nacpae) on May 28, 2021.
In an interview with the UST Communications Bureau and as posted on the UST website on June 23, Empleo said the recognition, using accounting parlance, feels like a "psychological income" - a bonus to what teachers and administrators normally receive in return for their efforts.
