THREE hybrid corn varieties of Bayer Crop Science were recently cited as the highest-yielding in Cebu growing up to 8.3 metric tons per hectare (MT/ha), which is now seen to uplift farmers' lives in the province's biggest corn-producing town.
In a corn competition in Asturias, Cebu, Bayer's DEKALB 9118S posted a yield of 8.3 MT/ha, with a return on investment pegged at 84.7 percent or a net income of more than P45,000 per hectare.
