Iligan opens another vaccination site

THE Iligan City government is set to open another vaccination site as part of its continuing efforts to speed up the progress of the government's free Covid-19 vaccination program. 'We anticipate that if we can hasten the vaccination ... we can achieve the 70-percent herd immunity. If we only had one vaccination site, we would only vaccinate about 2,500 or [at] the most, 3,000 per week. In one month, we can have only 10,000 or 12,000, which is far from the 70 percent of our population,' said Dr. Belinda Lim, health cluster manager of the Iligan Emergency Operations Center. The new vaccination site, located at the La Salle Academy gym, is targeted to cater to A3 and A4 priority groups while the inoculation at the Robinsons Place vaccination hub also continues.
