BEIRUT: Lebanon's Armed Forces Commander Joseph Aoun on Thursday (Friday in Manila) urged the international community to provide emergency support for the Lebanese army amid Lebanon's deepening economic crisis.

"Any tampering with the military institution will lead to chaos and to the collapse of the whole country," Aoun was quoted by the National News Agency as saying.
