Sustainable fisheries management is needed for the inner waters of the Bicol Region, an environmental group said, given current challenges hampering the local sardine fishing industry,

Next to the Zamboanga peninsula, fishing grounds in Bicol account for the Philippines' second-highest production of sardine species, the local arm of Oceana noted.
