Filipino pole vaulter Ernest John "EJ" Obiena continues to push himself as he aims for a higher bar five weeks before the opening of the Tokyo Olympics, according to his father Emerson Obiena.

"The aim is to jump higher than he was able to jump. He has jumped 5.85 meters so the target is to jump higher than that, be it 5.90 or higher than that," said Emerson at the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) online forum on Tuesday.
