Local unit slides to nearly 3-week low

THE Philippine peso had its worst performance in almost three weeks after returning to the P48:$1 territory on Tuesday.

The local unit slipped 14 centavos to P48.03:$1 after opening at P47.90:$1. This is the lowest level since May 26 when it closed at P48.15:$1.
