Central Luzon officials urged to intensify peace efforts

TO ensure sustainable harmony and development in the countryside, Presidential Peace Adviser and Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security Carlito Galvez Jr. urged local officials in Central Luzon to intensify peace building efforts in their localities. The secretary sounded the call during virtual barangay (village) levelling sessions on the localization of Executive Order 70 even as he thanked and congratulated local officials for the hard work, dedication and determination they have shown in securing peace and development. 'Truly the key to resolving the communist insurgency largely depends on the cooperation among the local government units, national government agencies and the populace in the affected communities,' Galvez said. He guaranteed that his office will ensure all members of the local task forces will be equipped with the knowledge and skills they will need to perform their mandated tasks.
