SEN. Ana Theresia "Risa" Hontiveros on Friday backed proposals to let the government assume control of the Luzon power grid to help curb recurring brownouts.
The Department of Energy (DoE) has proposed to the Senate amending the legislative franchise of the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) and "revert back to government" control of the grid to better manage power distribution and fix cybersecurity concerns in the power transmission sector.
