Batanes garlic industry gets boost

BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya: Some 20,000 kilograms of garlic have been shipped from the island province of Batanes to this town via Sual Port in Sual town in Pangasinan province, according to the Department of Agriculture (DA) in Region 2.

Carol Albay, DA-Region 2 High-Value Crops Development Program coordinator, said these are Itbayat white and Batanes red varieties of garlic already shipped last week to boost garlic production in the province.
