DoH welcomes Sinovac use for kids in China

THE Department of Health (DoH) has welcomed the news that the CoronaVac vaccine of Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac Biotech has been given emergency clearance in China for children over three years old.

Sinovac Biotech chief executive Yin Weidong said in an interview on Chinese state media the country's regulators have approved the use of the vaccine based on phase one and phase two trials involving three to 17-year-olds.
