DAVAO City has overtaken Quezon City as having the highest number of average daily cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, according to OCTA Research.
In its monitoring report dated June 8 and based on data from June 1-7, Davao City logged 213 new cases per day, from 147 cases the week before for a 44 percent growth rate.
Quezon City slid to second place with 207 cases per day or a 27 percent decrease from 283 cases per day.
Rounding up the top 10 in the cities with the most new cases are Cagayan De Oro City, Bacolod City, Iloilo City, Manila, Paranaque, Pasig, Caloocan, and General Santos City.
The average daily attack rates remain high in: Dumaguete, Koronadal, Tuguegarao and Iloilo City. The highest is in Dumaguete with 40.86 cases per 100,000 population.
The intensive care units in six cities have an occupancy rate above the 85 percent critical level while those in Zamboanga City, Bacoor City, General Santos City, Dumaguete City, Cotabato City, Iloilo City, and Tuguegarao City have full or 100 percent occupancy rate.
