ANOTHER rehabilitated airport is seen boosting tourism and economic activities as the Department of Transportation (DoTR) over the weekend announced the upgrade of Kalibo International Airport. The DoTr and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) inaugurated the airport on June 4.

Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, CAAP Director General and Capt. Jim Sydiongco and other key transport officials were present at the inauguration. Completed on Sept. 15, 2020, the airport's expanded 2,633-square-meter (sqm) international passenger terminal building (IPTB) can now accommodate 406 passengers from its previous 344-passenger capacity.
