The Department of Budget and Management has announced on Saturday that President Rodrigo Duterte approved the release of P2.5 billion from the government's contingency fund for the procurement of 4 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
"The President just approved P2.5 billion, equivalent to $56 million, chargeable against the 2021 contingency fund. The said amount will cover the payment of around 4 million doses of vaccines, and its corresponding logistical and administrative costs, which is expected to be delivered this month," Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado said during the Laging Handa public briefing.
