Secretary Fortunato de la Peña of the Department of Science and Technology (DoST) headed the Philippine delegation and delivered the Philippine statements at the two high-level roundtable events of the 24th Annual Session of the United Nations (UN) Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD).

The high-level roundtable sessions discussed 'the role of science, technology and innovation in a sustainable and resilient recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic' on 17 May 17, 2021. The following day, May 18, the discussions focused on 'using science, technology and innovation to close the gap on Sustainable Development Goal 3 on good health and well-being'.
