PBA won't allow Kiefer Ravena to play in Japan B. League

Now it's happening: Kiefer Ravena has officiallly signed with the Shiga Lakestars for the 2021-2022 Japanese B. League season, which means he'll have a chance to play against his younger brother, Thirdy.

The Lakestars confirmed it thru its official website.

But Ravena will have to go through an excruciating process before he gets the opportunity of playing in the Japanese B. League as he has an existing contract with the NLEX Road Warriors, his mother team in the PBA.

A few months after their season ended in last year's PBA bubble tournament, Ravena, along with Road Warriors team captain Kevin Alas, signed a three-year maximum deal.

The Road Warriors management have yet to make a statement at this time, but PBA commissioner Willie Marcial stood firm that the league won't allow Ravena to play as he's bound to honor his commitment with his mother team and the league.

'We will not allow it,' Marcial said. 'He has an existing contract with NLEX, there's also a UPC (Uniform Player Contact) and he has a commitment with the PBA. That's all I can say,' Marcial told The Manila Times.
