BSP holds 64th national council meeting online

About 124 local councils from 10 regions participated in the annual national council meeting of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) which was held online for the first time on May 27 to 29.

BSP National President Roberto Pagdanganan lauded the success of the 64th ANCM. The council meeting was scheduled to be held in May 2020 but was called off due to restrictions because of the pandemic.

'This is the first time that a meeting of this magnitude and importance was held online. Reaching out to other members of the Council across the country is a feat in itself as it involves getting all the participants glued on the computers for the duration of the three-day event,' he said.

The highlights of the event include the president and treasurer's report, announcement of winners of several searches for adult leaders, workshop on some strategic priority areas and election of eight members of the board.

Pagdanganan said eight new members were elected to the National Executive Board.

The main hub of the event was the BSP headquarters in Manila and the meeting was held via Zoom.

'I congratulate the staff of the national office headed by Sec. Gen. Rogelio S. Villa and Field Operations Division Director Sofronio Hontanosas and the various division heads and teams who worked hard to ensure success of the event,' Pagdanganan said.

The election of a new set of officers will be on June 15, where the new president and other officials will be elected.
