Private sector and business groups have called for the passage of the amendment of the Public Service Act and the Open Access in Data Transmission Act but expressed concern on some of the bills' provisions.

In a joint statement over the weekend, private sector groups expressed support for the passage of Senate Bill 2094, noting that "the bill is a low-hanging fruit in the legislative tree to attract foreign investments instead of amending the Constitution which is highly controversial and ill-timed under present circumstances."
