The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) held a symbolic raising of the Philippine flag during its inspection at the Kalayaan Island Group (KIG) in Palawan on Friday as part of the celebration of the National Flag Day.

Together with the biggest coast guard vessel-Gabriela Silang 8301-and two other multi-role response vessels, Admiral George Ursabia Jr., PCG commandant, stressed the importance of showing the country's presence in the West Philippine Sea where hundreds of Chinese ships have been spotted.
