Dear PAO,
Zayam and I entered into an agreement where I will deliver to him certain commodities and he will pay me at the end of every month. However, he has been remiss in his obligation despite my several attempts to collect. I intend to cancel the contract, but he claims it is not an option because it would harm his reputation should he fail to satisfy his clients. Am I allowed to cancel the contract under the circumstances?

Your legal remedy as an aggrieved party in the contract is exactly answered by Article 1191 of the New Civil Code of the Philippines, which states:
