A group of young people takes a groufie inside the People’s Park in Tagaytay City, with Taal Lake in the background on May 22, 2021. The Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said Alert level 2 (increased unrest) has been raised over Taal Volcano as sudden steam-driven or phreatic explosions, volcanic earthquakes, minor ashfall and lethal accumulations of volcanic gas were expected to occur within and around the volcano island. Authorities have set up a permanent danger zone, especially in the area of the main crater, the Daang Katila fissure, and banned public tours. PHOTO BY MIKE ALQUINTO
