THE Philippines has appealed for a peaceful resolution of sea disputes during the 27th Association of Southeast Asian Nations-China Senior Officials' Consultation on May 18.
Foreign Affairs Acting Undersecretary Elizabeth Buensuceso called on Asean member states and China to honor their commitments under the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and uphold the integrity of the 2002 Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea.
