Zack Snyder's "Army of the Dead" is one of the most anticipated movies of the season and rightly so. Twelve years in the making, the brilliant moviemaker (who also directed the 2004 remake of zombie flick "Dawn of the Dead") has his vision unimpeded in this masterpiece where he gave his all as story creator, director, screenwriter, co-producer and cinematographer.
To be sure, Snyder devotees will have more than their fill of his high-intensity action trademarks and wicked visual effects, but they will realize soon enough too that neither are the core of this Netflix original.
