RICE millers are calling for the help of the Senate, as they seek for P205 billion budget to buy the expected local palay (unmilled rice) in the next harvest season, according to Samahang Industriya ng Agrikultura (Sinag).
In a statement on Thursday, Sinag Chair Rosendo So said rice millers can only procure palay at the maximum of P15 per kilo. He went on to say that, in addition to rice farmers, the Executive Order (EO) 135 would also impact rice millers and other industries that depend on the rice industry.
