IN the throes of the coronavirus pandemic, we can see with greater clarity that Covid-19 has been most devastating in fraying our links with people we hold dear, like close relations and friends. The virus steals into our lives unawares, and then in a flash we discover to our shock that someone has been taken ill or taken away, and then is cremated in such a hurry (by law) that we barely get a chance to visit or to mourn.
