Duterte warns of ‘stricter lockdown’ if virus surges

President Rodrigo Duterte said he would be forced to impose a stricter lockdown if infections again surge because of more Covid-19 variants and violations of health protocols.

In his prerecorded public address aired on Tuesday, Duterte said he personally does not want to impose lockdowns, but he would be forced to do so to protect the public and prevent the spread of the virus.
