SARANGANI Gov. Steve Chiongbian Solon signed an order, prohibiting tourists from entering the borders of the province until the end of May due to the increasing cases of Covid-19. Solon issued and signed Executive Order 16, which implements sricter border controls and other vital measures to mitigate the spread of the disease in seven Sarangani towns. The measure applies to land travel as well as sea transport via the Sarangani Bay and the Celebes Sea. 'The tourism establishments and facilities in the province are closed to nonresidents until May 31,' he said. Mass gatherings are also prohibited during the period; except those for health, social services, safety and security purposes, but the exceptions should follow the 50-percent capacity limit for venues. Religious activities may continue at 30-percent capacity while weddings, baptisms and necrological services are limited to 25 persons and should obtain approval from the concerned town hall.
