All government buildings and offices inside the Occidental Mindoro Capitol Complex in Mamburao will be closed starting May 12 until May 23, Gov. Eduardo Gadiano said in his official social media post on Tuesday. According to Gadiano, the decision concurred by the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases Mimaropa (Mindoro Oriental and Occidental, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) was brought upon by continuous increase of infections among employees inside said establishment that houses several provincial and national government agencies. The closure would also pave the way for the disinfection of premises to ensure all health protocols are observed to prevent further spread of the virus. According to the Covid-19 Occidental Mindoro Daily Case Bulletin, the province has 703 confirmed cases of which 88 are active. Sablayan has the highest number of active cases with 36 followed by San Jose with 22 and the capital town of Mamburao with 21 active cases.
